Email Signatures, Are you Using them Effectively?…

youtube-video-thumbnail

Welcome to my third Speaker Snippets!

Are you being loud and proud about being a speaker?

If you feel you are…answer this…do you have “Speaker” listed in your email signature? If yes, AWESOME… but…does that link direct to your speaker page on your website or a speaker sheet if you don’t have a speaker page yet?????

Please take a moment now to look at your e-signature…if you even have one to begin with. I can’t tell you how many communications I get from people who don’t have an auto e-sig and if they do it says very little about them. This is a crime as they’re missing branding opportunities and it doesn’t tell the recipient that they are a professional much less a professional speaker.

Why is a good email signature so important??? In my above video I share my personal thoughts on that and this article will make it clear as well.

And if that’s not enough, here’s another great post with a witty SlideShare too!

15 Careless Email Signature Mistakes That We’re All Guilty Of by Scott Tousley via HubSpot

Also in my video I explain what I discovered when researching about email signatures. I want to save you all time by sharing what I learned!

I did a test on WiseStamp and was very impressed with their system, but you can only list one profession per signature, and the profession cannot be hyperlinked to lead to a webpage. That will not work for what I’m suggesting you do! If you’re an author, speaker, coach, etc. you want to list all of those positions AND hyperlink each of them to the matching website page.

OH AND if you decide to try them, be careful, their marketing is very misleading as you think you’re signing up for a monthly plan, but they charge you for the annual. Yep – as Dad always told me “First the test and THEN the lesson!”…Ha ha!

So yeah, I really don’t recommend you do WiseStamp. However, you CAN have the look of WiseStamp and similar services AND have the linking capabilities by creating your own.

In short, I’m going to recommend you use a service like Fiverr. Don’t mess around…your time is valuable and it’s best to go with professionals in particular when they are as affordable and good as Riya_Moni.

For $17 (well I paid an extra $10 tip as she was phenomenal, but that’s optional) she created the e-signature at the bottom of this email and that was a rush job because I wanted to get it done in time for this Speaker Snippet. I’ll definitely be using her for more work in the future.

To find her go to this link: Fiverr and search by her name Riya_Moni. Oh, and please tell her Anastasia sent you! 🙂

Having said all that, if you’re a DIY kinda person, then I found this tutorial to be very helpful:

Only you can decide if it’s the highest and best use of your time. I did it and in hindsight realized it wasn’t the best use of my time and the end result was not as good as Riya’s, but I did learn a lot in the process. Ha ha!

Heads up! I my video I shared a really special opportunity to win a free one-hour speaker branding consultation ($200 value) with me…but ya gotta listen to the end to get the instructions. 🙂

Lastly, a shameless plug for my consulting services. Even speakers with top-notch professional branding could benefit from having the eyes of a speaker agent look over what they’ve got to make sure they aren’t missing any opportunities to be more loud and proud about being a speaker. I would be honored if you would trust me with your time to share my expertise with you.

Here’s a testimonial from another speaker consulting client:
